Why Buy Dell?-On this page you will find information coupons and links to purchase Dell computers. Why do I recommend Dell computers? First let me say that I used to, and still can, custom build computers. However there is no way I can purchase the components, assemble, and sell a computer for the prices that Dell offers. You can purchase a complete system for $500 or less after rebates. These inexpensive systems are all the average person needs to run office applications, check email, and browse the internet.
If you intend to play video games that require 3D graphics you will need to add the higher performance 3D graphics card to the system instead of the integrated or "onboard" graphics. You should also purchase the fastest Intel P4 processor you can afford. These extras will probably double the price of the computer, but they are "must have" items if you are a gamer.

Is there any reason not to buy Dell?- If you are the kind of person who likes to upgrade the computer yourself, fiddle with your computers settings, or want to overclock your computer, Dell systems are not for you. Most of the performance enhancing BIOS settings are locked or not available.
Be aware that to my knowledge Dell still uses a proprietary power supply, not a standard ATX power supply. If you want to install another non-Dell motherboard in your computer connecting the Dell power supply to it will probably fry your new motherboard! If the power supply in your Dell computer needs to be replaced, be sure to replace it with a compatible one from Dell.
